The recently released version of CAPR 100-1, Radio Communications Management, is a significant update with a multitude of changes throughout the document. This draft has been under development for over a year and a half and is the result of a lot of hard work by the National Communications Team.

Now that the regulation has finally been published you need to be aware of one disconnect which will be corrected in the next two weeks. Having been written months ago, the guidance in the regulation concerning communications training anticipated that ICUT would already be published and available to the membership. Unfortunately that is not the case.

ICUT will be released very soon as part of the new CAP Learning Management System (LMS) and both are currently being beta-tested by two CAP wings to be sure they are ready for prime time. Our plan is to wrap up the beta test and open the door for everyone to access LMS and ICUT on 20 August 2012. In the interim, wings can still conduct BCUT and ACUT training as always and annotate members records in Ops Quals. When LMS and ICUT go live, OpsQuals will be updated to reflect the new course.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. Obviously there are many moving parts when making large changes of this nature. Please let us know if you have any questions or additional concerns.
